A historic inn off Route 78, just outside Clinton, N.J., is home since April 2018 to our flagship Oink and Moo BBQ & Brew location, a full-service, 130-seat indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar at 167 Perryville Road, Hampton.

Our newest Oink and Moo attracts barbecue lovers of all ages, including a cadre of home-grillers who love to talk about their smokers. “It’s such a guy thing,” says owner Josh Sacks, admitting, “There’s something primal about wood-fired smoked meat.”
The restaurant is conveniently located off of exit 12 on Rt 78

WHAT’S COOKING

It’s all about the pairings in our “BBQ and Tex-Mex with a Twist” menu, and we offer a flight of four chef-created sauces to tempt your palate. Appetizers include our popular smoked brisket and pork belly burnt ends, a bean-free smoked brisket and pulled pork chili, and hush puppies with corn and poblanos, served with a chili-garlic dipping sauce – just to list a few!

Oink and Moo does all the classic smoked meat platters – including baby back ribs and a colossal Brontosaurus beef rib, as well as combination platters of brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs and/or chicken – as well as award-winning sliders (six types), plus salads and sides (e.g., smoke sweet potatoes with candied bacon).

On the Tex-Mex side, you’ll want to sample our award-winning tacos (five types), “Killa Dilla” quesadillas (four types) and burritos (six types). Our rubs, sauces, meats and sides are all uniquely Oink and Moo – all chef-created, gourmet quality and made from scratch onsite, using top-quality, fresh ingredients and our own recipes.

200-year-old charm

A little history about our Hampton home: It was built in 1813 as the “Brick Tavern.” During construction, word came of Admiral Perry’s victory over the British on Lake Erie, and the proprietor rechristened his new tavern “Perryville.”

In the 1960s, the building was moved to its present site to accommodate construction of I-78. Just off the highway at Exit 12, and extensively renovated, it operated here for many years as the Perryville Inn, a highly regarded fine-dining restaurant.

We’ve preserved a good deal of the 200-year-old inn’s charm, with the original fireplace and rustic barn board woodwork, while adding some of our own Oink and Moo flair – it is a BBQ joint, after all! We offer a full bar, with beer on tap as well as in cans and bottles, and a modest wine selection.

Fun times: We’re family-friendly,
with a kids’ menu and affordable
pricing. We also offer takeout.

Oink and Moo caters private parties for any occasion – weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, retirements, etc. – in one or both of our first-floor dining rooms (seating 70 and 30) or in our upstairs private room (seats 30). And then there’s our lovely, secluded outdoor patio (seats another 30).
